Swedish childcare and elder care benefits
Reliable child and elder care are critical for working parents. That’s why we offer a host of resources to help ease our caregivers’ way as they juggle the demands of their daily lives including Primary Childcare Solutions, Back-Up Care, virtual camps, virtual tutoring services and more.
Skip the line when searching for childcare
We offer many resources to help our caregivers find and hire safe, reliable childcare. Swedish caregivers can jump ahead on waitlists for Bright Horizons, a nationally recognized, high-quality childcare center with dedicated childcare classrooms for infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children or get up to 10 percent tuition discounts at their partner centers. They can also take advantage of waived membership fees for Sittercity’s premium database of childcare providers. Plus, they get discounts from College Nannies Sitters + Tutors, a local, high-touch nanny placement service for trained, screened nannies.
Backup childcare when needed
When regular childcare falls through, it can be incredibly stressful. That’s why backup childcare is an essential benefit we provide via our partnership with Bright Horizons.
Bright Horizons Back-Up Care connects our caregivers with vetted childcare providers when regular care isn’t available due to time off, illness, emergencies or school breaks and holidays. Parents can opt for Center-Based Care at a childcare center staffed by teachers uniquely qualified in welcoming children to new environments. Or parents can find In-Home Child Care with a vetted and trained nanny for one or multiple days.
Backup childcare isn’t limited to a 9-to-5 schedule: Swedish caregivers can find trusted care during early mornings, late nights and everything in between. And with the mobile app, they can easily reserve care whenever they need it—up to 90 days in advance.
Childcare for school breaks
When kids are on break but working parents are not, the Bright Horizons benefit allows Swedish caregivers to cover their care gaps with access to highly rated summer and school break camps led by qualified staff, offering engaging projects and activities that are fun and educational. Reservations can be made in advance, so parents can get peace of mind by planning early for teacher work days and breaks.
Swedish caregivers can also use their childcare benefit to reserve a new virtual camp option, powered by Steve & Kate’s Camp. Co-pays are waived for virtual camps. Each backup care use can be exchanged for one virtual camp session.
Once the virtual camp reservation is made, the child can log in anytime during the day and choose from the curated list of activities that pique their interest.
Virtual Tutoring services
For children 5 to 18 years old who need help with homework or dedicated support in a specific area, Swedish caregivers can use their Bright Horizons Back-Up Care benefit to reserve an experienced tutor that provides:
- Instant virtual homework help or scheduled 1:1 tutoring in reading, math, science, social studies or 300+ other subjects.
- Targeted support with a math or reading expert who can identify areas of opportunity and help a child excel.
Supporting Swedish caregivers with elder care
Many of our caregivers also care for aging parents or other loved ones at home. The In-Home Adult Care program identifies reliable backup care for parents, spouses or other loved ones who need short-term help.
The Bright Horizons benefit is designed to help reduce stress for our caregivers who work so hard to care for our communities each day.
